Pick #1: Coleman Owen – Ohio Bobcats – More than 48.5 Receiving Yards

Coleman Owen is hands-down Parker Navarro’s favorite weapon in the passing game. The senior wideout will enter Saturday’s Championship Game owning 1,032 receiving yards on 62 receptions. He is fresh off a 142-yard outing against Ball State last weekend and has topped 100+ yards in three of their last five games despite playing with comfortable leads in every game since late October.

He’ll have the luxury of playing indoors at Ford Field in what Vegas expects to be a very tightly contested game against the rival Miami RedHawks. This is a tough matchup for Owen as the RedHawks have allowed just 180.3 passing yards per game this season, but the 49-yard target is way too light for a guy averaging 86 yards per game.

Pick #2: Cam Skattebo – Arizona State Sun Devils – More than 121.5 Rushing Yards

It’s a big ask to expect a running back to top 122 rushing yards these days in a college football Championship Game, but I’m feeling okay about it in this case. Skatterbo has been one of the top backs in NCAA all season long (and has a top-notch name to go with it) and will take the field Saturday sporting 1398 rushing yards in 12 games this season.

Arizona State is set to square off against an Iowa State game ranked 3rd in FBS in passing defense, having allowed just 156.9 yards per game through the air this season. However, it’s been a different story on the ground as their 173.7 rushing yards against per game has them ranked 96th in FBS. This should equate to Skattebo getting fed early and often in Jerry’s World.

Skattebo torched Arizona for 177 rushing yards last week and has topped this number (comfortably) in five of their last seven games. If Arizona State wants to bring home the Big 12 Title, they’ll need to rely heavily on Cam Skattebo to get it done.
