Pick #1: Ashton Jeanty – Boise State Broncos – More than 182.5 Rushing Yards
This target seems ridiculous, but it’s not as ridiculous as Jeanty’s numbers this season. The Heisman hopeful has racked up a ridiculous 1,376 rushing yards in seven games this season. His season low in rushing is 127 yards. He is averaging nearly 9.0 YPC.
He faces a San Diego State defense that is nothing more than average at anything, and the Broncos will look to their stud running back over and over this evening. Jeanty torched San Diego State for 205 yards on 23 carries last season and should put up a similar stat line under the Friday Night Lights in Boise this evening. Grab him to surpass 182.5 yards rushing, then sit down and enjoy the show.
Pick #2: Kelley Joiner – South Florida Bulls – More than 0.5 Touchdowns
Kelley Joiner saw the lion’s share of the carries in the Bulls backfield last week, toting the ball 15 times for 94 yards and a pair of touchdowns in their win over UAB. He also added two receptions for 34 yards and another touchdown in the passing game. He is averaging a healthy 5.9 YPC this season, and the senior RB is perhaps slowly starting to separate himself as the lead back in this crowded backfield (as QB Byrum Brown also likes to run the ball).
Tonight, the Bulls square off against a Florida Atlantic squad that has been shredded on the ground for 200.7 yards per game this season. With a soft match, an ever-increasing role with the offense, and seven touchdowns in seven games this season, this looks like a strong play.
