Pick #1: Keyonte George – Utah Jazz – More than 22.5 Points + Rebounds + Assists

Keytone George was a bright spot for the Jazz last season as the rookie played his way into steady minutes and finished with a stat line of 13/2.8/4.4. He was rewarded with a nice payday during the offseason and Utah is hopeful he can take another step forward this season. I think he will.

Over the last 25 games of last season, George logged 30+ minutes per game and posted 16.96 points, 2.84 rebounds, and 4.88 assists per game. This game has one of the highest point totals on the board this evening, and with Memphis just two-point road favorites, it should stay competitive throughout. George has 20+ point ability and topped this 22.5 number in 15 of those final 25 games last season. I’ll start this entry with George getting off to a strong start in 2024-25.

Pick #2: James Harden – Los Angeles Clippers – More than 22.5 Points

With Paul George off to Philly and Kawhi Leonard shockingly injured once again to start the season, we may be set to see some vintage James Harden this season. It’s the first game of the season and Harden should see as much usage as he wants in this one. He averaged 21.5 points per game in two meetings against the Suns last season with George and Kawhi in the mix. In six games last season without PG13 and Kawhi, Harden averaged 14 field goal attempts and 7.3 free three attempts. I will not be surprised to see him flirt with 30 points in the opener.
