Pick #1: Trent Walker – Oregon State – More than 60.5 Receiving Yards
UNLV will enter tonight’s game rocking a 5-1 record and fresh off of a win over Utah State, but they’ll also head to Corvallis having allowed a horrendous 287 passing yards per game on the season. With UNLV opening as 6-point favorites, we should see the Beavers look to the air early and often.
Trent Walker has emerged as Gevani McCoy’s safety blanket, as the junior WR has racked up at least seven catches in four of the last five games. He had 96 receiving yards last week and I don’t expect Oregon State to be able to ride their running game effectively at all against UNLV’s 19th-ranked rushing defense. Walker will need a big night if Oregon State looks to pull of the upset.
Pick #2: KeAndre Lambert-Smith – Auburn – More than 52.5 Receiving Yards
This line just looks a bit soft. Lambert-Smith, when healthy, has easily been Auburn’s most dangerous receiving weapon. He hauled in seven grabs for 95 yards in their last game (at Georgia) and has sailed past this number in each of his last four games.
Mizzou’s defensive line has been solid this season; allowing just 116.3 yards rushing per game on the season (37th fewest in FBS). With that said, they were shredded on the ground in their last game, a beatdown by the hands of Texas A&M. Eli Drinkwitz will be expecting an improved performance from them as they return to Columbia for Homecoming weekend. Lambert-Smith has the speed and illusiveness to reach this number on a single reception. He wiill also likely receive the lion’s share of the targets.
