Pick #1: Bryan Reynolds – Pittsburgh Pirates – More than 7.0 Fantasy Points

Reynolds picked up a pair of hits and two RBIs in last night’s game, and looks ready to have an encore performance this afternoon in the Steel City. He’s been crushing it at PNC Park this season with a .891 OPS. He has also been a force against right-handed pitchers with a .884 OPS.

On the other side, Randy Vasquez has had a rollercoaster season for San Diego. Since the beginning of June, his 4.79 xFIP is among the highest in MLB among all qualified starters, and he’s struggled on the road with a 6.29 ERA and 1.78 WHIP over eight starts. This number feels a point (or two) too light, and I’ll confidently start my slip here.

Pick #2: Bryan Woo – Seattle Mariners – Fewer than 4.5 Hits Allowed

Bryan Woo enters tonight’s game having not allowed a single earned run in each of his last two outings. He now sports a ridiculous 2.08 ERA and 0.87 WHIP in 12 starts this season. While we should not expect those levels of dominance to be sustained, he looks like a terrific option to target. Woo has allowed just three total earned runs at Safeco Field this season (in 28.1 innings) and has a tasty matchup awaiting him against the visiting Detroit Tigers.

Detroit owns an ugly .208 team batting average since the All-Star break and their 24% strikeout rate is in the bottom-third of the league during that span as well. Woo has only allowed more than four hits in four of his 12 starts.
