Pick #1: Jose Ramirez – Cleveland Guardians – More than 1.5 Total Bases

Ramirez picked up three hits last night and drove in his 93rd RBI of the season. Ramirez has absolutely crushed left-handed pitching, posting a .461 wOBA (behind only Aaron Judge) and 206 wRC+ against them in 2024. He is slated to square off against Eduardo Rodriquez, who will be making his first start of the season.

After a slow 1.5 months to start the season, Ramirez owns a .954 OPS with 20 home runs and 60 RBIs in just 68 games. He is set up for another successful evening and I am confident starting my slip with this play.

Pick #2: Sonny Gray – St. Louis Cardinals – More than 17.5 Pitching Outs

On the surface, Sonny Gray seems to have worn down a bit as the season has progressed. However, he somewhat surprisingly owns an MLB-best 2.75 xFIP since July 1st among all qualified pitchers. Gray has also been lights out in front of the Cardinal’s faithful this season, owning a 2.67 ERA and 0.97 WHIP in 11 home starts. Gray has pitched 6+ innings in 11 of his 20 starts this season and will likely be leaned on to pitch deep tonight as the middle relief was forced into a heavy workload in yesterday afternoon’s game.

The Tampa Bay lineup has been struggling lately, owning an ugly .224 team batting average over the last two weeks and only scoring 4+ runs in two of their last eight games. Gray should work his way through six innings in this one.
