Pick #1: Jurickson Profar – San Diego Padres – More than 7.0 Fantasy Points

Including AAA, Tanner Gordon has been rocked by right-handed batters for a .385 average and 2.04 WHIP over 28.0 innings. He has surrendered at least four earned runs and 8+ hits in each of his first three starts at the big league level. Meanwhile, Profar is in the midst of the best season of his career.

He has posted a .362 wOBA and 140 wRC+ against right-handed pitching this season. He was held in check last night, but Profar is swinging the bat very well lately (.912 OPS over the last 30 days). Reaching 7.0 fantasy points seems pretty likely in this matchup.

Pick #2: Jose Berrios – Toronto Blue Jays – Fewer than 4.5 Strikeouts

Over the last two months, Berios owns a subpar 15.8% strikeout rate. That mark is the fourth-lowest total in MLB among all qualified pitchers. Today, the Toronto starter is tasked with taking the mound at Yankee Stadium against this red-hot and loaded Yankees lineup.

Berrios has been much less successful outside of Toronto this season, as he owns a 4.99 ERA to go along with a 2-6 record in 11 road starts. He has only reached 5+ strikeouts in four of his last ten starts, and I don’t think he’ll have enough success today to pitch deep enough into this game to get there.
