Pick #1: Rafael Devers – Boston Red Sox – More than 0.5 Total Bases

Carlos Rodon has pitched well for the Yankees this season, but it’s starting to fall apart. Despite a strong performance in his last outing, Rodon has posted an ugly 7.94 ERA and 1.68 WHIP across 34 innings in his last seven starts (including last week’s gem). He’s has also been borderline terrible away from Yankee Stadium; posting a 5.00 ERA in 13 road starts this season.

Enter Rafael Devers, whose .382 ISO against right-handed pitching trails only Shohei Ohtani in MLB. Devers picked up a hit in last night’s game and is now the owner of a 1.100 OPS over the last 30 days. Oh, and he’s also destroyed baseballs at Fenway Park all season (1.005 home OPS), so all signs are pointing towards a big night for the 27-year-old.

Pick #2: Garrett Crochet – Chicago White Sox – More than 7.5 Total Strikeouts

If you like watching strikeouts, this one shows all the signs of a big K outing for Garrett Crochet. Crochet’s 12.69 K/9 and 35.4% K% are both rather easily tops in Major League Baseball and he’ll face a Seattle team that has whiffed more than any other club in baseball this season (27.8% K%). Crochet absolutely dominated the Mariners in their only prior meeting this season, striking out 13 hitters over seven terrific innings of work.

Crochet will take the mound owning a 2.31 ERA with 100 K’s in 66.1 innings on Chicago’s South Side and this is his final audition prior to this week’s trade deadline. This is a high total, but for obvious reasons.
