Pick #1: Bobby Witt Jr. – Kansas City Royals – More than 9.0 Fantasy Points
Bobby Witt Jr. has been elite all season and is proving to be one of the brightest young stars in the game. He will be sad to see the ASB coming as he’s scorching hot at the plate. Witt brings a 10-game hitting streak into Fenway this afternoon, posting a .472 AVG and 1.364 OPS in the process.
Throw in the fact that Brayan Bello has posted an ugly 6.55 ERA in Boston this season and Witt’s ability to rack up fantasy points in every facet of his game, and I’ll start my pick slip here.
Pick #2: Jameson Taillon – Chicago Cubs – More than 5 Strikeouts
Taillon has been rounding back into solid form lately. He has pitched at least six innings in his last five outings while posting a 2.37 ERA with 37 strikeouts in 38 innings of work.
He has posted at least five strikeouts in six of his last seven fights, and this STL squad has whiffed at a 23.4% clip against right-handed pitching as we head into the All-Star break. I expect another quality start from Taillon this afternoon, with 6+ strikeouts well within reach.
