Juan Soto has stayed under this total in eight of his last 12 games and is averaging just 1.34 bases per game on the road this season. He’ll be facing Trevor Williams today, a pitcher he has seen plenty of times — and not with much success. In 22 career plate appearances against Williams, Soto has managed just two singles along with seven walks, showing limited damage at the plate. Given his recent form and his underwhelming history in this matchup, I think this is a great opportunity to take the under on Soto.
Jack Flaherty MORE THAN 4.5 Strikeouts (Goblin)
Jack Flaherty has kicked off the season in impressive form, posting a strong 30.6% strikeout rate along with a 30.5% whiff rate. Today, he gets a favorable matchup against an Astros lineup that has been striking out over 20% of the time against right-handed pitching. Historically, Flaherty has had success against this group as well — in 75 career plate appearances against these Astros hitters, he’s recorded 22 strikeouts, good for a 29.3% strikeout rate. Given his current dominance and solid track record against this lineup, I absolutely love plugging this Goblin into your lineups today.
