Sonny Gray MORE THAN 5.5 Strikeouts

Gray has surpassed this strikeout mark in two of his three starts so far this season, posting an impressive average of 6.33 strikeouts per game. Looking at the matchup, aside from Altuve, most of the Astros’ lineup hasn’t had much exposure to Gray, which could work in his favor. In their limited sample of 68 at-bats, the Astros have struck out at a notable 26.5% clip against him — a promising sign for Gray heading into this outing.

Landen Roupp LESS THAN 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

Roupp has gotten off to a strong start this season, posting a solid 3.60 ERA through his first two outings. What really stands out, though, is his underlying FIP, which sits at an impressive 1.80 — a sign that he’s been even better than his surface stats suggest. While he did run into a bit of trouble with walks in his last start against Houston, it’s worth noting that he issued none in his season debut. All things considered, this looks like a favorable spot for him to stay under this number as he kicks off the series.
