Pick #1: Avery Johnson – Kansas State Wildcats – More than 207.5 Passing Yards

This line feels slightly off, considering Avery Johnson has exceeded this mark in seven of his last eight games. With star running back DJ Giddens out after declaring for the NFL Draft, Chris Klieman may have no choice but to lean more on his dynamic sophomore QB.

Johnson will face a Rutgers defense that’s shown significant vulnerability to the pass this season. Just take a look at the last six weeks of opposing QB performances:

Aidan Chiles (in a blowout): 150 passing yards
Luke Altmyer: 249 passing yards
Billy Edwards: 335 passing yards
Max Brosmer: 262 passing yards
Miller Moss: 308 passing yards
Ethan Garbers: 383 passing yards
Braedyn Locke: 240 passing yards

Avery Johnson has the potential to outdo all of them and will be hungry for one last statement game as he heads into 2024.

Pick #2: Tucker Gleason – Toledo Rockets – More than 214.5 Passing Yards

Tucker Gleason has plenty working in his favor for the GameAbove Sports Bowl, setting him up for a strong stat line.

1. The game is indoors, so no weather concerns.
2. Pittsburgh’s tough rush defense will likely force more passing attempts.
3. As 7-point underdogs, they’ll probably need to air it out to keep up with the Pittsburgh offense.

In their last game, Gleason threw for 289 yards in a win over Akron, and he topped 200+ passing yards in 7 of his 11 starts this season. He looks primed for another solid outing and should sail past this 214.5-yard target.
