Pick #1: Clint Capela – Houston Rockets – Fewer than 9.5 Rebounds

This one seems scary on the surface as Capela has been averaging 11 rebounds per game over the last ten, but the quarterfinal matchup against the Knicks is not ideal for the Houston big man. The New York Knicks have allowed an NBA-low 12.52 rebounds per game to opposing centers this season, and they held Capela to just six rebounds in their only prior meeting this season. Last season, with KAT anchoring the defense down low, the Minnesota Timberwolves allowed the 4th-fewest rebounds to opposing centers (13.52), so this does not appear to be a short-lived coincidence. Capela averaged just eight rebounds per game in two meetings against KAT (as a member of the T-Wolves) last season.

Pick #2: Jalen Brunson – New York Knicks – More than 2.5 3-Pointers Made

After shooting 40%+ from three in the two previous seasons, Brunson’s off to the best start from deep in his career as he’s hit 43.2% of his threes this season. He has hit 3+ three-pointers in five of the last six games and has averaged 6.5 attempts per game since the beginning of November. Tonight, he has the best matchup in the NBA for three-point shooters as the Atlanta Hawks have allowed an NBA-worst 16.0 3PM against them on the season.

Brunson went 4-11 from deep in their first meeting this season and torched Trae Young and the Hawks for 14 three-pointers in their two meetings last season. Grab this now, just in case the target moves to 3.5.
