Pick #1: Jordon Simmons – Akron Zips – More than 71.5 Rushing Yards

Akron is pretty horrible, but Kent State is even worse. The Golden Flashes enter tonight’s game winless and have allowed the MOST rushing yards per game in college football this season (264.9 rushing yards allowed per game). With Akron potentially playing most of this game with a lead, or at least well within striking distance, we should get a rare chance to see a full workload for Jordon Simmons as their lead back.

Simmons has rushed the ball 99 times for 551 yards this season, good for a very healthy 5.6 yards per carry. After a rough start to the season, he’s averaged 73.8 yards per game over the last five games. We’ve seen Simmons get 12+ carries in four straight games, and 20+ rushes is not out of the question tonight. Grab him to rush for more than 71.5 rushing yards in this game while you still can.

Pick #2: Javon Tracy – Miami (OH) RedHawks – More than 48.5 Receiving Yards

It took Javon Tracy a little while to get going this season, but the sophomore wideout has things rolling lately. Over the last six games, Tracy has averaged five receptions and 76.8 receiving yards per game while also finding the endzone in five of those six contests. This is a tough matchup as Northern Illinois has been rock solid against the pass this season, but that appears to have deflated this number. In what should be a very competitive game, expect Gabbert to look Tracy’s direction early and often.
