Pick #1: Kaytron Allen – Penn State – More than 74.5 Rushing Yards

My favorite target this afternoon is Kaytron Allen to smash this 74.5 rushing yard target. The junior RB has averaged 94.4 yards per game (on 4.9 YPC) in five games in Happy Valley this season. Today, he’ll face a Purdue rushing defense that is one of the worst in all of college football. The Boilermakers have been carved up on the ground for 199.9 rushing yards against per game this season.

Allen is fresh off a 98-yard rushing performance against the Washington Huskies last weekend, where he saw 20+ carries for the second time this season.

Lead backs against Purdue in the last five weeks did the following:

TreVeyon Henderson – 6 carries for 85 yards
Joseph Himon II – 6 carries for 78 yards
Jordan James + Noah Whittington duo – 19 carries for 92 yards
Josh McCray – 16 carries for 78 yards
Tawee Walker – 19 carries for 94 yards

A big performance (133 yards, to be exact) could push Allen over 1000 rushing yards this season for the first time in his collegiate career, and I think he will get close.

Pick #2: Raheim Sanders – South Carolina Gamecocks – More than 82.5 Rushing Yards

Mizzou’s defense has been great against the pass this season (8th fewest passing yards allowed in the country), but its rushing defense has been mediocre. South Carolina enters this afternoon’s battle with Missouri as nearly two touchdown favorites, and it’ll certainly be leaning on its running game to grind out an important SEC victory.

Sanders seems to have hit his stride in recent weeks, rushing for well over 100+ yards in each of the last two games. Sanders is averaging 5.3 yards per carry this season is a true work-horse back for the Gamecocks. If you throw out a one carry for one single yard performance against Akron and a game with a reduced role as he came back from an injury against Ole Miss, Sanders has averaged 95.1 yards per game in the other seven contests. We can confidently expect a big workload for the senior tailback in this one, and he should flirt with yet another 100+ yard rushing performance.
