Pick #1: Tyler Bertuzzi – Chicago Blackhawks – More than 0.5 Points

Bertuzzi was more of a secondary option for the offensively stacked Toronto Maple Leafs last season, but I expect him to return to his early-career success with his new team. Bertuzzi is just three years removed from scoring 30 goals and 32 assists in just 68 games with Detroit in 21-22.

He hit the lottery this offseason as he’s slated to skate alongside Connor Bedard on the Hawks’ top forward line as well as their #1 power-play unit. A matchup against Utah (Arizona) is just the icing on the cake for Tuesday’s opener as they surrendered an ugly 3.34 goals against per game last season.

Pick #2: Logan Cooley – Utah Hockey Club – More than 0.5 Points

Logan Cooley was overshadowed by Connor Bedard in his rookie season, but he was quietly fantastic in his first season with the Coyotes, as he posted 44 points in 82 games. Cooley was a bit slow out of the gates last season, but the 2022 third-overall pick racked up 12 goals and five assists over the last 24 games last season.

He kicks off his sophomore season with a matchup against a Chicago team that ranked near the bottom of the league in nearly every predictive defensive metric last season. He will headline Utah’s second forward line and help run things with the second power-play unit. I expect him to improve upon his rookie season and will gladly add this to a slip with the nice 1.11X payout.

Others:

Andrew Peeke – Boston Bruins – Fewer than 2.5 Blocked Shots – Still fighting for stable minutes and had 3+ blocked shots in just 13 of 44 games last season.

Sean Durzi – Utah Hockey Club – Fewer than 0.5 Points (He will lose some PP time to the newly acquired Mikhail Sergachev)

Jake Neighbours – St. Louis Blues – More than 0.5 Points (Great finish to last season (6 goals, 3 assists in L12). Former 1st round pick who will top forward line and #1 power-play minutes)

Adam Boqvist – Florida Panthers – Waiting for more options on UD (currently, the only option to play is 0.5 goals, and I’ll pass there) – ready to pounce potentially as he looks to get the first crack as the point-man on the Florida #1 PP.
