Dylan Raiola LESS THAN 9.5 Rushing Yards
Dylan Raiola’s rushing yards line is one that seems poised to remain under throughout the season. It’s clear that he doesn’t prioritize running the ball, and Nebraska is perfectly content with that strategy. In his matchup against Northern Iowa, Raiola only had two designed runs, both of which were part of run-pass options (RPOs). When facing Colorado, he again had just two designed runs, which resulted in a loss of seven yards. He did manage a 12-yard scramble, bringing his rushing total to a modest five yards. Now, as he prepares to face Illinois—boasting the 16th-ranked pass rush according to Pro Football Focus—Raiola encounters the toughest defense he’s faced thus far. While Nebraska has been good at limiting sacks, even a single one could effectively cement this rushing line. Given the circumstances, I’m particularly excited about this play on a short slate.
Zakhari Franklin MORE THAN 51.5 Receiving Yards
Franklin got off to a blazing start last week, capturing attention early on, but didn’t see another target until the fourth quarter. His usage can definitely feel a bit unpredictable at times, yet he still managed to secure five receptions on eight targets for a solid 66 yards. With a noteworthy 23% target share, he finds himself in a favorable position, especially given that Illinois is projected to be playing from behind. This scenario bodes well for a talented receiver like Franklin, who is heavily utilized in a competent offense. I’m excited about how this game could unfold for him!
