Pick #1: Francisco Lindor – New York Mets – More than 1.5 Total Bases

Yonny Chirinos was blasted in his last start (7 earned runs in 5.2 innings against the Reds) and will limp into tonight’s game with a 5.76 ERA and 1.72 WHIP. After an abysmal start to the season, Lindor has come alive down the stretch and now owns a .415 WOBA and .241 ISO in 136 PAs since June 15th. He puts a six-game hitting streak on the line this evening. As the Met’s leadoff hitter, he should have plenty of chances to surpass 1.5 total bases this evening.

Pick #2 – Zack Littell – Tampa Bay Rays – More than 5.5 Hits Allowed

I like the Yankees tonight in a big way. Zack Littell has mixed in a few gems, but all in all, he’s been getting into trouble rather often lately. Over his last 11 starts, Littell owns an unsightly 5.24 ERA and 1.45 WHIP over 56.2 innings of work. He’s also been dreadful away from the Sunshine State, as he owns a 5.53 ERA and 1.69 WHIP on the road.

Littell has allowed 6+ hits in six of his last nine starts. Things don’t get much more difficult for opposing pitchers than facing this daunting NYY lineup at Yankee Stadium. Considering Shane Baz only managed 3.1 innings yesterday, which forced the bullpen to cover the rest of the game, Kevin Cash is likely to give Littell a fairly long leash in this one.
