Pick #1 – Jesse Winker – Cincinnati Reds – More than .5 Total Bases

Things line up nicely for Winker, who has made a career off of damaging right-handed pitching. Things remain unchanged as he posted a .377 wOBA and .200 ISO against righties during the first half of the 2024 season. He has also been an offensive force at Nationals Park all year, as he owns a .315 batting average and .948 OPS in 124 ABs in our Nation’s Capital this season. Tonight, he draws a plus matchup as Frankie Montas has coughed up a .376 wOBA against lefties this season, the second-worst mark in MLB this season among qualified pitchers. He’ll slot somewhere in the heart of the Washington lineup and figures to get involved in the damage.

Pick #2 – Alec Bohm – Philadelphia Phillies – More than 1.5 Total Bases

Bohm is finally emerging as the stud the Phillies hoped he’d become when they drafted him third overall in 2018. Bohm entered the break on a hot streak; picking up hits in six straight games and he finished the first half of 2024 owning a .327 average and .883 OPS on the road this season. He will face southpaw Martin Perez to kick off the second half, a pitcher he has absolutely owned in their previous battles; Bohm has eight hits in 16 ABs against Perez (including a home run). Perez was great to start the season, but it’s fallen apart in a bad way as he owns a 7.82 ERA and 2.02 WHIP over his last eight starts.
