Pick #1: Bobby Witt Jr. – Kansas City Royals – More than 9.5 Fantasy Points
After nearly winning the Home Run Derby, Bobby Witt will start the second half of the season, already having racked up 75 runs, 16 HRs, 63 RBIs, and swiped 22 bases. Needless to say, he can pile up the fantasy points in a hurry. His numbers at Kauffman Stadium require a double-take as he owns a .380 average and 1.121 OPS in 187 home at-bats. Tonight, he’ll face Chris Flexen and his 2,98 xFIP. Witt was swinging a red-hot bat prior to the break and figures to pick up right where he left off.
Pick #2: Tanner Bibee – Cleveland Guardians – More than 5.0 Strikeouts
Since May 15th, Bibee’s 31.5% K% is the fourth-best mark among all qualified pitchers, trailing only Garrett Crochet, Paul Skanes, and Chris Sale. Bibee has surpassed this total in nine of his last ten outings. San Diego may be the toughest team in the league to strike out this season, but this total still looks a strikeout or two on the light side, as Bibee’s 2.94 xFIP suggests we’ll see more success from the 25-year-old sophomore pitcher in the second half.
