Play #1: Roddery Munoz – Miami Marlins – Fewer than 4.5 Strikeouts
This number just seems too aggressive. Munoz has flashed decent stuff in the minors but has an ugly 5.48 ERA in five career starts at the MLB level. His 5.15 xFIP doesn’t suggest we should see a ton of improvement any time soon, either. Munoz has yet to reach 5+ strikeouts in any start with the Marlins, and this Houston club has posted an impressive .326 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. Jump on board now before this one falls off the Underdog board.
Play #2: Trea Turner – Philadelphia Phillies – More than 2.5 hits + runs + RBIs
This Philly team is finally back to full health, and Turner has really heated up at the plate lately. The Philly shortstop owns a .424 average to go along with nine runs, five home runs and 14 RBIs in just eight games during the month of July. He owns a .389 wOBA against right-handed pitching this season. He has a nice matchup awaiting him opposite Landon Knack, who comes to LA after posting a questionable 5.09 xFIP at the AAA level this season prior to his promotion. Turner looks prime for a big night.
