Jameson Taillon – Chicago Cubs – Fewer than 4.5 Strikeouts

Taillon has pitched admirably lately, and has surpassed this number in each of his last three starts. However, he’s had a relatively pitcher-friendly schedule to start the season and that certainly won’t be the case this evening as he heads to Camden Yards. The Orioles lead MLB with 146 homeruns already this season and they have done so while only striking out at a 20.2% clip to right-handed pitching. Taillon has a fairly long history against many of these Orioles’ batters and it hasn’t gone his way often. The margin of error for him is very thin this evening and I don’t expect him to reach 5+ strikeouts.

Nolan Gorman – St. Louis Cardinals – More than .5 Total Bases

Gorman is proving to be one of the streakiest hitters in MLB this season, and it looks like he’s getting back locked in at the plate. He picked up a pair of hits last night and now has multiple hits in four straight games. Left-handed batters have long been Michael Wacha’s kryptonite, and that has proven true again this season as they’ve posted a .323 wOBA against him. Our projEV tool likes Gorman to keep things rolling this evening, and I do as well.
