Jose Altuve – Houston Astros – More than 1.5 Total Bases

Altuve has ripped apart left-handed pitching his entire career, and things are no different in 2024 as he owns .378 wOBA against southpaws this season. At Minute Maid Park, he boasts an impressive .318 batting average and .905 OPS. He’s set for a favorable matchup against southpaw Trevor Rogers, who enters the game struggling with a 1-9 record and a 4.91 ERA over 17 starts. Rogers’ average fastball velocity has dropped to a career-low 92.2 mph, resulting in his highest Contact% to date (79.7%). Altuve happens to be one of the league’s best contact hitters in recent memory, giving him a great chance to extend his hitting streak seven games and sailing past 1.5 total bases in the process.

Andy Pages – Los Angeles Dodgers – Fewer than 1.5 Total Bases

Pages is one of LA’s top position-player prospects, but after a solid start to the season, it appears that MLB pitching has made the necessary adjustments to keep him in check. Pages has posted just a .203 average with only four extra-base hits in 59 ABs over his last 15 games. Tonight, he’ll face potential Cy Young winner Zack Wheeler in Philly, where Wheeler owns an outstanding 1.79 ERA and 0.88 WHIP in ten starts at Citizens Bank Park this season. With opponents hitting under .200 this year (.194), this doesn’t look like the night he’ll get his mini-slump turned around.
