Steven Kwan – Cleveland Guardians – Over 1.5 Total Bases

The stars appear to be aligning for Kwan to have a big night this evening. The Cleveland lefty has posted a .423 wOBA against left-handed pitching through 54 ABs this season while also rocking a 1.018 OPS at Progressive Field. He’ll take the batter’s box opposite the very hittable Chris Flexin, whose 5.01 xFIP is amongst the worst marks among all qualified starting pitchers this season. Lefties have posted a .397 wOBA and smacked nine homeruns in just 28.2 innings and Kwan will likely return to his spot at the leadoff spot again this evening.

DJ Herz – Washington Nationals – Under 5 Strikeouts

Over the first five MLB starts of his career, Herz has only surpassed this strikeout number one time (granted, it was a 13-strikeout performance against the Marlins). Tonight, he’ll face a Mets offense that has heated up down the stretch and who own just a 20.3% strikeout rate against left-handed pitching this season. Herz is still very much hindered by a limited pitch count (just 66 pitches in his last outing and maxed out at 87 pitches), and the Mets are sporting an impressive 123 wRC+ against lefties this season; there looks to be some value on banking Herz gets the hook before posting his fifth strikeout.
